Day Two of Ramping Up Production »

As I wrote a few days ago, it is time to ramp up production. Today was day two. Here is what I accomplished:

I wanted to add content to my top site at least every other day this month. Yesterday I did that. I will do more tomorrow. Tomorrow’s will be a major update.

I want to create at least one new blog or mini-niche site a day. Yesterday I created the domain this blog rests on nut I still need to develop it. Today I created two blogspot blogs for a clickbank product. I added them to the social bookmarking sites and we will see how they do.

I have begun to post more in the forms and blog comments in the hopes of rustling up some more traffic.

That is what I have done. What are your goals? And are you getting closer?

I am going to be tracking my new blogs and niche marketing efforts in the following days.

One thing that I have not done in the past is research a niche before jumping in. I have had some good one . . . and some bad ones.

tip: When I hit a bad niche, it is generally bad because I can’t drive traffic to it. What I do is sell it on sitepoint after it gets some pagerank.

So if you have any tips on discovering good niches please let me know!

I am going to track one step by step.

Ramping up Productivity »

So I do this online thing for a living. That is great! and it is awful.

The great part is that I get to do what I love with no timeclock. The bad part is that I have no boss telling me that I have read the Washington Post long enough now back to work!

That is why I have decided to make a June push to ramp up production. Since I am up to something like four readers I don’t have to really worry about secrets getting revealed so here is the plan:

  1. Create at least one new site a day. Most likely this is going to be a blog based around a specific niche. Either a CB product, under-represented keyword, or affiliate product. I will post to this new site every four days until I have roughly eight to ten articles.
  2. Add content to my top producing site at least every other day the entire month. We neglect the top producers far to often in the hopes of creating new income streams.
  3. Market more. I have sent out two mass emails in my entire marketing career. I have a database of almost 10,000 people who have requested to be on my mailing list. I think it is time to let these people know I am alive.
  4. Pray for direction. This may sound silly but I really believe that God cares about my business. I need to get Him a little more involved.
  5. Stay focused.

I am in the process of selling off some sites that don’t fit my portfolio and will free me up to do other things. It is time to ramp up productivity!

Tattoo Sites – Not a Cash Cow »

I have recently launched a tattoo site. I had been thinking about it for a while but finally did it. I got a pretty on-target, niche KW filled domain name and a script. I linked it to my network of sites and waited for traffic.

The traffic came but it paid almost nothing.

I am now getting less than a penny per click with cpc ads. LESS THAN A PENNY!

Yikes!!!!

Glad I have a VPS cause i would hate to justify any real cost for this. So now I am looking for a new way to monetize the site. I am thinking AuctionAds and CPM ads. Lets see what happens.

Any advise? Please let me know.

Video Sites »

I have a video blog type site. I get less than 100k pv per month.

It earns less than $100 a month. That is really irritating. I cannot figure out how to get more traffic for it.

It is a christian theme video site of course. There is a market for the site. . . they have just not found it yet.

Here is the challenge. I have a range of Christian webistes that I would love to further monetize but I cannot figure out how.

The majority of Christian affiliate marketing products are either dating or financial. I run dating campaigns because they pay but I would hate to have to rely on them. The other is the Christian debt consolidation / mortgage / life insurance.

Most of these companies have little to do with Jesus other than an image or title. Yet a brother has to eat, right?

So now I go into the world trying to find a niche that will pay.
